The study goals and objectives were identified by the Steering Committee, including representatives of Cranberry Township, Butler County, Butler Township City Joint Municipal Transit Agency (The Bus), PennDOT and the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission (SPC). Goals and objectives were presented to public officials and the general public for comment at a community open house held on Tuesday, March 16 and Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at the Cranberry Township Municipal Building.

Study goals and objectives include:

• To proactively engage the public to identify needs and evaluate options for public transportation system improvements, for Cranberry Township and surrounding communities
• To balance and integrate local needs and regional connectivity
  • Commuting
  • Regional Connections
  • Local Circulator Services
• To engage the public and community leaders in identifying transit needs and in the development of possible service concepts to address those needs
• To develop an implementation plan and strategy for capital and operating improvements

Study goals and objectives were discussed at all public outreach meetings.
