DECENNIAL CENSUSES 1980, 1990, AND 2000 – Data on population, housing, and employment from the 1980, 1990 and 2000 census. Census information for the year 1980 is available by municipality, City of Pittsburgh tract or ward, and county. Information for the year 1990 and 2000 is available by block, block group, census tract, block numbering area (for 1990 only), municipality, and county. Data are provided in a standard 8 1/2” x 11” printed report or on floppy diskette. Geographic coverage includes:

1980: Counties of Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Washington, and Westmoreland
1990: Counties of Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Washington, and Westmoreland
2000: Counties of Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Washington, and Westmoreland

DEVELOPMENT MONITORING 2000+ – This database monitors the impact of large residential and nonresidential development projects and company-specific work force changes that have occurred since April 2000, as well as those that are planned and proposed. Data can be ordered by Pittsburgh neighborhood cluster or municipality. The information is available in a standard 8 1/2” x 11” printed report.

MAJOR TRIP GENERATORS – Data consist of information on shopping centers, hospitals, and colleges/universities. Data include: generator name, status (existing/under construction/planned/
proposed), location/address, municipality or Pittsburgh neighborhood cluster, employment at generator, contact for information, and type of facility. Additional data for hospitals include: number of licensed beds, designation as trauma unit, and availability of helipad. POPULATION ESTIMATES 1990-1999 – Data consist of the total population estimates for municipalities for 1990-1999. Data are provided in a standard 8 1/2” x 11” printed report for 10 counties at a municipal level.

RESIDENTIAL BUILDING PERMIT ANALYSIS – Data are new privately-owned construction authorized by building permits and include the number of buildings, the number of units, and the value of the buildings, by structure type (single-family and multi-family), for each year 1990-2007. Data are reported by municipality and county. Data are provided in a standard 8 1/2” x 11” printed report or PDF format at the same price. An Excel workbook containing just the number of units by structure type is available at the same price.

SPC FORECAST (2007) - by municipality and Pittsburgh City neighborhood cluster - NEW! These data by municipality and Pittsburgh neighborhood cluster are now available at the SPC Data Library.

SPC FORECAST (2007) – by zone within municipality and Pittsburgh City neighborhood cluster. Data consist of the total population, group-quarter population (number of persons residing in facilities designed for group living), households, average household size, and jobs by place of work for four NAICS-based employment categories. Data range is for the years 2005-2035. Data are provided by zone, municipalities outside Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh neighborhood clusters, and county. Data are provided in a standard 8 1/2” x 11” printed report or in Excel spreadsheet format.

Photo Of TrafficTRAFFIC COUNTS – Spanning a ten-year period, SPC has taken over 6600 traffic counts on roadways throughout the counties of southwestern Pennsylvania. Traffic count data are sorted and available by roadway name, by municipality, by volume range, and by type of facility. Data are provided on a standard 8.5" x 11" printed report.

Traffic counts are also available on the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation web site (www.dot.state.pa.us). At the site:
