“Get to Know CommuteInfo Webinar”

With the increased interest in commuting alternatives, CommuteInfo is going to try something new to help let even more people know about its services.  CommuteInfo is hosting its first-ever webinar.   

Employers, commuters, etc. can log in from anywhere and view the presentation and then ask questions.   The “formal” overview part of the program will last about 20 - 30 minutes.  The rest of the time is reserved for answering questions from those in attendance.  This webinar is tailored more for employers but is open to all.

The Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission
Announces Geographic Information System (GIS) Software Training

SPC is again partnering with the Penn State Land Analysis Laboratory to offer one, 2-day GIS software training session, focusing on Environmental Systems Research Institute’s (ESRI) ArcView / ArcGIS 9.x software and available regional data resources to address the needs of our member counties, local governments and associated agencies.

What: Introduction to ArcGIS
When: September 18 & 19, 2008, from 8:30am – 4:30pm
Where: The O’Neill Room, on the 23rd floor of the Regional Enterprise Tower, 425 Sixth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15219 [ directions ]
Audience: The course is open to staff from local governments.  The Introduction to ArcGIS course is for those new to GIS, and registrants should know how to use the Windows Operating System.  Please review the course description for more information and a preliminary agenda.  Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, with a maximum of 20.
Cost: These types of courses usually cost $400 per person. However, SPC is covering a portion of the training costs, and each participant will be invoiced for $150 per person upon completion of the training.  Lunch, refreshments, and materials are included.

Registrants will receive a letter of confirmation, preliminary materials, directions to SPC and information on parking.  Course availability is dependent on participant registration.  There is significant demand for this training, so please register as soon as possible.
