“Bridge to Tomorrow”

Project will provide improved
access from the west side of the Youghiogheny River and the Youghiogheny Trail, which is part of the Great Allegheny Passage, into downtown West Newton. This project will help tie the trails in the area to the
community and the local Main
Street program.

Hyde Park Footbridge

Repainting and structural repair of the Hyde Park Footbridge, a three-span suspension pedestrian bridge over the Kiskiminetas River linking Leechburg in Armstrong County with Hyde Park Borough in Westmoreland County.

Edgewood Railroad Station and Pedestrian Tunnel Rehabilitation
Wilkinsburg & Edgewood
Boroughs
Allegheny County
Renovation of a former Pennsylvania Railroad station, which is eligible for the National Register of Historic Places, and the rehabilitation of two pedestrian tunnels to improve pedestrian access and mobility within Edgewood and Wilkinsburg.

Railroad Station / West Newton Trail Center, Phase 2
West Newton Borough
Westmoreland County
Completion of a replica of the 1910 P&LE Railroad station in West Newton. This facility will serve as a visitors' center, will provide needed public restrooms for trail users and users of the Yough River Environmental Education Center, and will serve as a trail maintenance facility.

Pennsylvania Trolley Museum Visitor Center/Exhibit Building

Site work (filling, grading etc.) necessary for construction of a 37,000 square foot Visitor Center/Exhibit Building with associated entrance area and parking.

Project 9
Coal and Coke Trail Bridges
East Huntingdon Twp
Westmoreland County
Construction of two bridges on the Coal and Coke Trail, which is approximately five miles long, running from Scottdale to Mount Pleasant. The trail is on the old Scottdale Branch of the Pennsylvania Railroad.

Montour Trail Phase 13
Muse-Bishop Bridge
Cecil Township
Washington County
Construction of a bicycle and pedestrian bridge carrying the Montour Trail over Muse-Bishop Road. The bridge will replace an older structure that must be removed in order to improve roadway safety on Muse-Bishop Road.

Project 11
Sheepskin Trail
Dunbar & North Union
Townships
Fayette County
Construction of a rail trail in Dunbar and North Union Townships along an old branch of the B&O Railroad that helped open the southern end of the Connellsville Coke Region. Coke ovens still exist along the route including: Cheat River Coke Works; Ada's Bottom Coke Works; Atchison Coke Works; and Shoaf.

West Penn Trail
Pedestrian Bridge
Blairsville Borough
Indiana County
Construction of a 580-foot steel framed pedestrian bridge over the Conemaugh River at the West Penn Trail’s Westinghouse trailhead. This bridge is the last major link in the completion of the Pennsylvania Main Line Canal Greenway Millennium Trail segment between Cambria County and the city of Pittsburgh.

Beaver River Rails-To-Trails Project, Phase II
City of Beaver Falls
Beaver County
Construction of a paved bicycle and pedestrian trail from the center of Beaver Falls north through the Beaver River Valley. This trail will eventually connect to the Montour Trail in Allegheny County to the south and to Bicycle PA Route Z in Lawrence County to the north.

Cowanshannock North Trail
Rayburn & Boggs Township
Armstrong County
Construction of a crushed limestone trail beginning at Cowanshannock Creek in Rayburn Township, proceeding north on former Conrail right-of-way, and terminating in State Game Lands #287 in Boggs Township.

Project 15
Hot Metal Bridge
City of Pittsburgh
Allegheny County
Conversion of an existing railroad bridge into a pedestrian/bicycle bridge. This project includes two new ramp structures, a new deck, a new span, structural repairs, railing, lighting, and painting.

Project 17
Montour Trail - Phase 8C & 8E
South Park Township
Allegheny County
This project includes trail surface, drainage, stream bank protection, gates, barriers, and rehabilitation of the bridge over Brownsville-Library Road. It also includes fence
installation at the bridge over Piney Fork Run.

Project 18
Panhandle Trail - Station Street to Dinsmore Road
Smith Township & Burgettstown Borough
Washington County
Construction of 4.25 miles of the Panhandle Rail-Trail Project between Station Street and Dinsmore Road in Smith Township and Burgettstown Borough. When complete, the Panhandle Trail will ultimately provide 17.3 miles of grade-separated pathway linking nine Washington County municipalities, three municipal parks, and will provide an interstate connection to West Virginia.

Project 19
Five Star Trail - Youngwood to Scottdale
New Stanton Borough
Westmoreland County
This is the final part of a three-phase construction project to complete the Five Star Trail between Youngwood and Scottdale. The existing segment of the Five Star Trail is six miles long and connects Greensburg to
Youngwood.

Project 20
Blairsville Secondary Trail, Phase 2
Brush Valley Township, Indiana County
Construction of a six-mile bicycle and pedestrian trail on a portion of the Norfolk Southern Railway's abandoned "Blairsville Secondary" rail
corridor. This is one of the final links needed to connect the trails of Indiana and Cambria Counties. It will link the existing Ghost Town Trail with the Hoodlebug Trail corridor, creating a 60-mile system of interconnected trails.

Buttermilk Falls Trail

Construction of a trail following
Cowanshannock Creek from the Bernard C. Snyder Picnic Area, at the confluence of the Creek and the Allegheny River, to Buttermilk Falls and the Buttermilk Falls Bridge.

Washington County
Improvements on Murdock St. from N Jefferson Ave. to Iron St.and N Jefferson Ave. from Pike St. to the railroad crossing, including landscaping, sidewalks, signage, lighting, curbs, gutters, crosswalks and roads.

Monongahela Wharf Landing

Allegheny County
Links downtown and commuter parking with the Eliza Furnace trail and provides access to water transportation. Also provides for access to the Smithfield Street Bridge.

Pedestrian Safety Project

Indiana County
Located in the borough of Indiana and encompasses the downtown area. Project includes traffic calming measures, lit sidewalks, and related pedestrian safety issues.

Historic Village Of Hopwood Corrider Project Phase III
Fayette County
The project is to replace existing sidewalks with new ones of stamped concrete that has a brick appearance.
