Process & Schedule

A comprehensive inventory will be developed to analyze base conditions of public transportation services in Washington County.  The inventory will consist of residential, community, commercial demographics and available transportation resources.  Institutional arrangements for all public transportation providers will be examined for creating operating efficiencies.   This analysis will consider the following elements of transit service:

  • Service Coverage
    • Not currently served or underserved areas and populations
    • Not currently served or underserved major trip attractors
  • Service Levels
    • Headway
    • Span
    • Directness
    • Speed
  • Route/Service Performance
    • Productivity
    • Financial Performance

The schedule (click here to download, PDF Format, 80K) details data collection and targeted public meetings.

A key goal of the study is to identify ways to provide transit service in the most efficient manner possible.  The study outcomes will include a final set of transit recommendations developed that best fits the needs of the public, the resources and capabilities of the transit providers, and the current funding environment.
